SIRIUS AERO HAS OBTAINED IS-BAO STAGE I CERTIFICATE
Russian business aviation operator Sirius Aero was successfully audited by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) and obtained its IS-BAO stage I certificate at the beginning of October.
“Flight safety is our major priority. Now we are growing rapidly. We have put 8 aircraft into operation and introduced 2 new types in one year alone. We are going to accept delivery of 7 aircraft, two of which are of new types to us,” says the General Director of Sirius Aero Vitaly Tereschenko, “we would not be able to do all these things without a systematic approach to flight safety and quality issues. For that reason, we decided to implement IS-BAO standard; our goal is to pass all steps of SMS improvement, including Stage 3. We have taken the first step.”
International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) is an optional standard based on ICAO standards. The object of its implementation is the aviation company’s professionalism and security improvement.
Stage I is the first step in the Safety Management System (SMS) implementation; it confirms that the infrastructure has been built, documented, provided with resources and is being implemented.
